Political Education

Political Education supports people in their development into self- determined, responsible and democratically acting individuals and thus enables them to participate in society. In this way, it makes a significant contribution to the foundation of our free democratic basic order.

The social-ethical three-step: "See - Judge - Act" summarizes the goals of political education succinctly. Political education aims to: draw attention to problems, impart knowledge to enable judgment, and encourage participation. It should encourage participants to form their own opinions about social and political processes and conflicts, but also enable them to participate in shaping a free and democratic society.

OPEN

Zwischen Dezember 2021 und September 2023 erprobte die Kommende Dortmund in Kooperation mit der PSG Gender Bildungsstätte JaM in Dortmund-Mengede Formate der aufsuchenden politischen Bildung im Rahmen des Projekts OPEN der Transferstelle für politische Bildung. Nun wurde das Projekt verstetigt.

Schwerter Konsent

Der „Schwerter Konsent“ ist das Ergebnis einer Fachtagung „New bottle, old wine?“ vom 25. bis 26. März 2022, die gemeinsam vom Institut für Katholische Theologie der TU Dortmund und der Kommende Dortmund organisiert wurde.
